A Washington state school district has ditched a policy that forced pupils to hide Christian literature received at a school-hours Bible club.
Everett Public Schools, which serves over 20,000 students, introduced a number of policy changes that LifeWise Academy — a Christian organisation that delivers off-campus Bible classes — said deliberately discriminated against its work.
After the organisation launched legal action, the district agreed to amend its policies, pay $275,000 in legal fees, publicly apologise and undergo religious liberty training.
