Oliver writes: Thank you for your continued interest in the work of APC. We praise God for answered prayer, and for his ongoing blessing upon the ministry of APC. This year we have already completed several conference runs across the continent, and many have received vital guidance concerning the hermeneutic of the Scriptures modelled by the Lord Jesus and his Apostles. You can see attached the summary of our conference schedule, outlining the content of each session and the overall objective of this year's teaching. We praise God for all that is being accomplished for the good of the churches. Our objective is always long-term, to influence the present and future generations of ministers so that they might preach Christ in all the Scriptures and call their people to put their faith in the Lord Jesus alone for their salvation.
You will also see attached a report of the recent run in Kenya, along with access to a number of interviews on YouTube showing what different delegates gained from the conferences. We thank God that many are being directed away from charismatic / Word of Faith teaching into the Reformed faith, gaining an understanding of the doctrines of grace and seeing that salvation is indeed according to Scripture alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone, through grace alone, to the glory of God alone. Please continue to pray that this would not merely be the corrective of two days teaching, but by the power of the Spirit, would lead to a complete transformation of entire ministries. That is one of the reasons why we invest so much in the books we give away / make available for a nominal charge. By stocking libraries with books propounding Reformed theology and biblical hermeneutics, we desire to see the future ministry of pastors lastingly transformed, for the honour of Christ and the edification of his people.
Finally, you will also see attached an appeal for funds to enable us to establish centres in East Africa and West Africa, under the management of local conference managers. This work is already underway, with storage locations for stocks of books in place and local men investing in the future of APC. However, we desire to employ managers in these locations that can invest in and carry forward the work of APC even further. Please consider making a contribution to facilitate this vision coming to pass.
It has been well stated that in sub-Saharan Africa, the church is a mile wide and an inch deep. Many people profess faith in Christ, but few are truly saved, and even fewer understand the doctrines of their faith well enough to weather the storms and persevere faithful to the last. At APC, we are seeking to channel this spiritual consciousness and zeal in a biblical direction, so that many who are seeking might find the true Christ and come to know and love him as revealed in all the Scriptures. Only then will they persevere to the last and attain the crown of life that will never fade or spoil.
