Jim Renihan writes: Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am exceedingly thankful for the entire IRBS community. As I write, I am weighed down in concern for our beloved brother James Dolezal and his family. Many of you may have heard that on June 22 he was struck by a car while crossing a street (in a crosswalk) near his home. Both of his lungs were punctured, several ribs were broken, and there was a small brain bleed. Today is too close to the event to know what the prognosis will be. Many of you have responded quickly to this news, bringing James and his family before the holy throne of our merciful High priest. I deeply appreciate you.
Two days ago, I preached from Hebrews 4:14-16 on the two natures of our
Lord. The text says “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has
passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we
are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” In my
preparation, I thought about Dr. Dolezal. He recently was staying here at
my house while teaching his Christology course for IRBS. Our brother has
given us great help in understanding the glories of our Savior. I’m sure that
my sermon in some way reflected things he has clarified in my mind.

family.
