In a single day, multiple schools became the latest victims of extremist militant violence in northern Nigeria. Several people were killed in the assault, and almost 100 students and teachers have been kidnapped. Over half of the children taken are between the ages of two and five. The brazen assault has been attributed to extremist groups seeking to overturn lives and envelope majority-Christian communities in fear. Such aggression marks a continuation of the violence vulnerable communities having been suffering in Nigeria.
