José (6 years) and his brother Toni (4 years), started attending House of Ants in May this
year. The local government council asked if we could care for
them. Their father and mother are separated, and their
maternal grandmother is taking care of them, but sadly she is
alcoholic and is seen daily at the rubbish dump. As you can
imagine, living with their grandmother in this situation is not
good.
When the neighbours realised that the boys
were living in this situation, they contacted the
counsel and asked if House of Ants might be
able to help support the boys. As they live
quite close to House of Ants, every day,
(including weekends and holidays), they come
and play together with the resident children.
We provide meals for them each day, and they
return home to sleep. Sadly most mornings
they arrive unwashed.
